CREDIBLE BY DEATH;

from live set '95-'97 (live video also appears on 'God On A Bad Day')

Death is the only way to make sure you won't make anymore mistakes. An artist that dies at their peak will always be seen as someone who would've continued on in greatness - but it's just as likely their next project would stiff, - they'll be caught up in a child abuse scandal and spend the rest of their lives trying to make a comeback. An artist who dies without success will always be seen as someone who would've gone on in greatness - and not just one of the millions who die trying. In life there is potential, -in death there is nothing.

GOD/HATE/LOVE;

from 'Your Mind Is A Sponge' demo

This song is typical of anyone who was raised in a catholic education system. You are scared into believing in "god" by people who are far less than holy themselves. The god I believe / the hate I feel / the love I want.

DIMINISHED RESPONSIBILITY;

from 'God On A Bad Day' CD-ROM

If I put myself in a bad situation- I should get out- not commit a violent crime and plead diminished responsibility "The law is just an attempt at justice"

HOMOPHOBIA;

from live set '95-'97

Now just between you and me,- we both know there's no doubt about our sexuality, but haven't you ever wondered ? questioned ? looked ? thought ? No, of course not ! - that's the homophobia.

MOANING SONG;

from live set '95-'96

Try to imagine child abuse from the molesters point of view - if you can't, we will never understand it, if we never understand, we can never help.

MAN FROM MARS;

from 'Your Mind Is A Sponge' demo (live video also appears on 'God On A Bad Day')

Divisions between men and women are brought about by our inability to see things from the others perspective. There are many things I will never experience simply because I was born the other sex. One of the greatest discrepancies between us is the issue of rape. I don't think men can ever understand the extent to which a women is violated, but women can't understand why men aren't more shocked or appalled by it. "Rape to her is something I could never understand, that don't make me more a sinner, it just makes me more a man."

DEFINITE POTENTIAL KILLER;

from 'God On A Bad Day' CD-ROM

i think most people have the potential to kill given the right set of circumstances. The average person pushed beyond their nice guy limit. Me, You, Anybody

BLOODFUCK;

from live set '97

the family unit is somewhat of a sacred institution - but the limits of trust are sometimes pushed beyond comprehension.

MINDRAPE;

originally performed by 'Toychild', deleted from live set 1995

Charles Manson is probably a very sick man - and maybe he should be in jail for the rest of his life - but ! did he commit the Manson family murders? were the people involved responsible for their actions ? Manson was never given the opportunity to present his case in court because he may have been able to influence the jury. now as i see it - that's the way lawyers use our justice system - why not Manson ?

"your honour, this is not about the truth..." (Barrister for the Defence, Mr McClintock, at the trial of those accused of killing Michael Marslew (18), at the Jannali Pizza Hut, Sydney Australia, on February, 27, 1994).

VIOLATE ME;

from 'Your Mind Is A Sponge' demo, re-recorded for 'God On A Bad Day' CD-ROM (live video also appears on 'God On A Bad Day')

Rape is a subject that fascinates me too a point far beyond normality (whatever that is?). The difference between the common male view that rape = sex / as opposed to the common female view that rape = violence seems to be the real reason why there is so much confusion between the sexes on this subject.

(10 YEARS FOR MY) HANDGUN;

from live set '96-'97, also used for unplugged radio tour 1996 (live unplugged version also appears on 'God On A Bad Day')

do WE REALLY NEED SO MANY GUNS ? we'll ONLY KNOW THE ANSWER WHEN IT'S TOO LATE

"More guns, more danger - less guns, less danger" (Peter Fitzsimons - Columnist, Sydney Morning Herald)

FOOD FOR THOUGHT;

from live set '95-'97

We will never understand how much advertising affects teenage girls - How does a bubbly, attractive, intelligent teenage girl turn into a psychological time bomb ? Whatever you are is perfect for you, - Love yourself, (and then try someone else!)

ME GENERATION;

from 'Your Mind Is A Sponge' demo

if i don't take drugs - does that mean i'm missing something? if i don't hang out with the right people - am i a nerd? if i don't fuck enough women - am i a wimp? - so why aren't i incredibly insecure?

CENSORSHIP;

originally performed by 'Toychild', deleted from live set 1995

I don't think we're all so stupid that we need to be told how to live our lives / what is good, bad or indifferent. I believe in classification - I think we should be informed as to the content of all material we are exposed too and make an educated decision whether to absorb it or not. But I oppose censorship. (although I think there is a lot of material which isn't worth absorbing).

MY HYPOCRISY;

from live set '96

Don't always believe what I say - because what you think I say is only what you have interpreted that I have said. (I also have been known to change sides in an argument).

SHAME;

from 'God On A Bad Day' CD-ROM

When the last full blood Tasmanian aboriginal died some time ago there was outrage and national shame at what had been lost. But if a white group tries to prevent the same fate for their bloodline (no matter how distant the event may seem) they are labelled as racist.

"The only way to survive is to survive together." (Archbishop Desmond Tutu)

This was originally titled 'White Pride' but our management at the time thought that might be a bit controversial at the time - 'Shame' seemed to depict the reality of the situation and her perceived embarrassment at the title choice. "Shame became a much more appropriate name. - and for that i thankyou Franca.

TRUST ME;

from live set '96

When do I know you enough to trust you?

VICTIM;

from 'God On A Bad Day' CD-ROM

"We have the greatest criminal justice system in the world,.....Unfortunately,.....We have no victims justice system."

(Parent of a child abuse victim)

Dedicated to every lawyer and judge who has ever made the six o'clock news.

I DON'T WANT TO KILL YOU;

from 'God On A Bad Day' CD-ROM (originally appeared on 'Shed The Need For Approval')

Just another love song - (just another very sick love song)

RETRO;

from 'God On A Bad Day' CD-ROM

I've got the Beanie, I've got the Tattoos, I've got the goatee....of course I'm hip. (Dedicated to the many concept bands and their parallel in original bands - the tribute album)

FAILURE;

from live set '97

i am what i've grown to be - i've grown to be what society should expect - i love who i am - i dispense no responsibility - i am a product of your society - love me or hate me - i am you.

CIVILIZED;

from live set '98

Thousands of years of mankind has only evolved to this? - Power = Power

BRAND NAME;

from live set '98

How many god damn 'nike' logos' do we need on this planet - the irony is that some of the biggest brand names producing the most expensive products use the cheapest (sweatshop) labour - go figure?? - you pay for quality and you often get screwed by it.

USED BY DATE;

from live set '99

Why do they have a used by date on sour cream?
- but seriously.
Love it then destroy it - the modern mentality

INAPPROPRIATE;

from 'Just Messing With Your Mind'

the need to be wanted - the love of pain - the denial of betrayal - the inappropriate encounter

The previous information is one persons thoughts

Your mind is a sponge - take care what you absorb

Injustice is the question, Responsibility is the answer
